Well first off Powerman and system were ok, Powerman sounded better though. Kid Rock wasnt that great, he screamed a lot but his cage dancers were nice, and a descent size pit opened up during Bawitaba. Korn absolutely rocked the house!!! They were great, sounded got the crowd into it, and they just kicked ass. Then the most horrific words Ive ever heard. Lars and Jason came out to a huge pop, then they announced that James is in the hospital or something that wouldnt be here and I think that it was a back problem but I really couldnt hear because the Boos were so loud. So everyone was all mad and depressed but, they made it all better when they said they would put on a free concert in a month. Plus Korn and Kid Rock were coming out to rock the house!!! Then we sat and sat and waited for around an hour but, we kept ourselves ammused by all of the females taking off their shirts. Finally the lights went out and Johnathan and Kid and Metallica came out and played. They sounded great together believe it or not. Johnathan played the drums for one song and Lars played American Badass perfect. They had a guy come up out of the crowd to sing for Master of Puppets but the dumbass guy just started saying shit and he got kicked off the stage and beatdown by some security. They played for around 2 hours, they ended with Enter Sandman which rocked. Well thats about it, Im not gonna go into all of the stories about the illegal substances being smoked EVERYWHERE!!! Well I let you know how the makeup show is on August 8. Later,

Setlist: Creeping Death (w. the non-orange haired guitarist from Kid Rock's band, Jason on vocals)
For Whom The Bell Tolls (Same)
Seek And Destroy (Same, plus Joe C from Kid Rock's band helped out on vocals during the chorus)
Korn (minus Head) doing their rendition of the Cheech & Chong Theme Sad But True Pt. 1–Kid Rock on vocals, he fucked it up halfway through as he was reading the words from pages that had been taped to the stage earlier, the orange-haired guitarist from Kid Rock's band on rhythm guitar
Sad But True Pt. 2–American Badass Version (Basically Metallica playing American Badass instead of Kid Rock's band, with the same guitarist from Kid Rock's band filling in)
Nothing Else Matters (Kid Rock on Vocals)
Kid Rock & His Band Doing 2 Songs: One was CCR's 'Firstborn Son' (I think that's the title); the other one I didn't know
Fuel (w. Kid Rock on turntables)
Turn The Page (Kid Rock on vocals, Joe C walking around looking tough, non-orange-haired guitarist from Kid Rock's band on rhythm guitar, semi-extended jam at the end)
Master Of Puppets Pt. 1- Whether they were just going to play MOP I don't know, but they actually pulled a member of the crowd onstage to sing (whose name was, oddly, Jason). Predictably, he fucked up by not only starting the vocals about two bars too soon, but also by forgetting the words completely roughly four lines in
Mastertarium (Master Of Puppets Pt. 2)- Daron from System Of A Down came out and played the entire medley front to back with only barely noticeable mis takes, AND he sang with Jason.
Enter Sandman (w. Head from Korn on guitar, Kid Rock, his DJ and Jason on vocals)

Most everyone knows what happened by now-James injured his back and was unable to perform, so an All-Star band was assembled to take his place. Here are a few details:

(This is totally unrelated to the Metallica set, but I think it's relevent anyway) -Korn, minus Johnathan Davis, played part of Slayer's 'South Of Heaven' during their set
-Jason finger-picked the end of Seek And Destroy, rather than play with a pick
-The guitarist from Kid Rock's band soloed over the end of Seek And Destroy, as he didn't know the riff
-During Enter Sandman, all the females who had been picked from the crowd during the show came out and stood along the backline dancing. During the break before the main riff comes back in, Lars turned around, saw this, and said, "That's fucking beautiful"
-Kid Rock scratched turntables during Fuel
-Jason messed up the vocals to the 2nd verse of both Creeping Death and Bellz; he sang the same thing as the 1st verse
-Kid Rock had to read pre-taped down sheets of vocals for Sad But True and Enter Sandman, but he did know the words to Nothing Else Matters and Turn The Page
-After a fairly long pause after the 1st attempt at Master, Jason came out and said "Daron from System Of A Down just came up and told us he knows all the old Metallica shit"; after a couple more minutes of slight rehersal, they played the Master/Sanitarium medley beautifully, with, as previously stated, only slight mistakes on Daron's part (he was off by a fret or so a couple times, but he had the timing down perfectly)
-Daron and Kirk both played the intro solo to Sanitarium; Kirk was grinning like a bastard & laughing at this

Before the show, Lars said that 'they' (I.E.: everyone involved) were going to try to put together about 90 minutes of material, but I think we got a little more than that, about 100-105 minutes. It was, to say the least, an entertaining show, I could have done without Korn's addition to the Metallica set but hey, it was all in fun, and now we get a make-up show on August 4th. So, to James, good luck healing, and to everyone else, remember to keep your bloody ticket stub.

The jam session of Metallica, Korn and Kid Rock was unique. I wanted to clear up two things in your updates of the show. Kid Rock did NOT perform Sad but True entirely...he did the first verse and chorus, then broke into American Badass. The band stopped playing for a minute, then Kid Rock proceeded to sing American Badass entirely with Metallica. Second, the fan who Metallica invited on stage messed up the first three lines of the song, and was taken offstage immediately. The band continued to play Mastertarium with Derrick from System of a Down on vocals/rythem guitar. The last song played was Enter Sandman, with Kid Rock's strippers and everyone who had taken part in the jam onstage, including Joe C and the Twisted Brown Trucker band

I was at the Atlanta show and it was awesome. It was really cool to see Korn play with Metallica- especially on Nothing Else Matters. That was really the highlight of the show- because you never would have expected Korn to play something like that. The entire show was incredible- it will be a moment I will never forget for the rest of my life. So until August 4, I will be living the memory of Kid Metallikorn.

about 9:10 or so, Lars, Kirk, and Jason come out onstage and get everyone quiet. we all notice there's quite a lack of James. No one around me really heard anything about James in the hospital, which Lars quickly confirmed. From what I hear, he was jet-skiing and when he woke up Friday morning, he couldn't move. I heard it was a ruptured disc in his lower spine. That's not too good.
Anyway, the leave as the techies set up for their guests which Jason promised us some fun.
They opened with Creeping Death after Jason, yet again reassured us all that the show would rock.
So in short, and some out of order:
(no intro)
Creeping Death w/ Kid Rock guitarist, Jason vocals
For Whom the Bell Tolls w/ Kid Rock guitarist, Jason vocals
Seek and Destroy w/ Kid Rock guitarist, Jason vocals
Cheech and Chong by Korn w/Jon Davis drums, Fieldy vocals, no Munky
some other song by Korn w/o Munky
Sad But True w/ Kid Rock vocals
American Badass w/Metallica, Kid Rock vocals
Nothing Else Matters w/ Head from Korn rhythm guitar, Kid Rock vocals
Master of Puppets/Sanitarium medley w/Darren from System of a Down rhythm guitar and a fan vocals for abuot 10 seconds, Jason/Darren vocals
Turn the Page w/Darren rhythm guitar, Kid Rock vocals
there's more, but i don't remember it, sorry. you'll have to apologize for my stupidity and horrible text skills. they are really quite off right now. if you catch my drift.

Kid rock changed up his set a bit, no one else did though.. 'tallica played tight and the crowd was so much better than Boston, really into the sing a longs and all.

Side notes-
Not as long 'die die' chant in creep

cool pause b4 the final verses in fade right before James goes into his lead.

Boston must have 2 monitors, cuz they only had 2 total at the show here, 2 on the side.

Seek james, jason, james for the 3 verses in seek.

James played to the same wall in the middle of King again, whats with that damn wall..hmm

Kirk has a new guitar, at 1st look, thought it was Darth Mall on in, but its not, has some writing on the bridge too. Used it for One and the cover medlies.

Disappear still sounds so damn good, its a keeper.

The Video display had a great 'fire 'n' destruction' mix during the last part of Roam that featured Pyro's from 97,92 and 88 and during the latter part of battery, showed pix of the different albums, singles and even bootleg covers going to the beat. More pyro's in One.

Fantastic fireworks show by the stadium afterward.

well to start off, System of a Down, Powerman 5K, and Korn sound much better indoors than outdoors. They're sound was not that great, too much bass. A few mistakes for the opening acts... the guitarist of System lost his guitar as he was playing, he stood there acting like he was still playing very cool. Unforntainately for Korn Munkys guitar wasn't even on for the first two or three songs until the roady came out and hit his pedal. Not to mention Jonathan Davis throwing up on stage, I have to sympathize for him it was hot as fuck. The stadium was still filling in during Korn, a little unusual, but by the time Metallica was to come on it was packed 62,000 strong. Ive been to every show in the maryland area in the past couple years and this was by far the best crowd Ive seen. Total participation on every song. The highlight of the evening was Metallica!!!!!!! They unlike the other bands were flawless. There sound was unbelievable, 10 times better than Korn for Gods sake. Everybody was stunned when they played Fade... and I have to agree you could hear Kirk's solos perfectly, very cool. Go see this show!!!!! Metallica alone is worth 65 bucks plus.

I went to the Baltmore show on Tuesday, (July 4th) and it was by far...the best day of my life. The concert started 4pm and we were there at the PSI NET STADIUM at 1:30pm it was so hot and muggy, alot different then sitting in the car for 2 and 1/2 hours. Me and friends sat in the car for about an hour then headed in to the stadium the stadium was so huge, my friends wanted to grab a sit but i said "FUCK NO!!!" and walked to the standing area, i was about 50ft from the stage, there was so many people and it was so hot, then finally the banner came up and system of a down came on.

Everybody when fucking crazy their were mosh pits and stage diving, and a huge surge came up from behind me and was getting passed around i though i was going to die they their was a circle and inside the circle this fat ass freak was kicking about 5 kids ass, he was beating the shit out of every1, then somebody from behind me pushed me into the circle and that fuckin freak like speared me, then i was thinking this is an awesome concert and its only the first band, they fucking rocked they did "Suggestions, DDevil ,Sugar, and Spiders not the whole song though, and they did a few others, then after about a 1/2 hour they were done and the stage was being set up for P2K when they came on i was pretty far bak because i went to get something to drink before i'd pass out. and also bought this kick ass summer sanitarium tour it had all the members from every band on it, drawn like cartoon characters and they were in straightjackets, well anway so P2k was so awesome, they said that they were making a home video so they wanted us to be extra loud, then after P2K their was a break so the stagecrew would set up the stage and alot of people left to go to the bathroom, suckers now i was up front right up front!!!

Then Kid Rock came on i haaaaaate him but he was ok to my surprise and i fucking hate Joe C I wanted to jump on stage and beat the shit out of him, but then i realized i was to lazy to get up. After Kid Rock, came Korn!!!!!!! they were so awesome they kinda sounded louder then Metallica, but sure as hell not better!!! then later the lights dimmed....the place shook and then came Metallica i was right their right in front of James and Kirk i was to excited and shocked to cheer at first or to even move, they startted to play Creeping Death and it was so fucking awesome, well you know the rest of the songs.... Metallica was so awesome i can't even put it into words, it was the best day of my life.. cya

Incredible show by Metallica!

System of a Down sucked. No distinction in any of their sound. I can't say anything good about them. They just sucked. Powerman 5000 was pretty good--Spider knows how to get a crowd riled up.

Kid Rock was ok....his setlist (for anybody who cares) was: Devil Without a Cause - My Name Is Rock - Born 2 B A Hick - Prodigal Son - Only God Knows Why - American Band - Cowboy - Bawitdaba - American Bad Ass. Best part of his set was watching three topless girls in the pit form a triangle on some people's shoulders and licking each other's nipples.

Korn sucked. I was really disappointed in their set but the rest of the crowd seemed to love it.

Finally, Metallica. They were fucking great. In addition to what your previous reviewer stated, "Fuel" and "The Memory Remains" also featured clips from the videos in them. Very cool seeing people get out their lighters for "Ecstasy of Gold," of all things. Judging from reviews from earlier shows on the tour, the end of "The Memory Remains" got a much better response tonight. I love "No Leaf Clover" on "S&M" but it kicks major ass live! James did the little "Outlaw Torn" tease in the middle of "King Nothing." "I Disappear" sounds about 10 times better live. Great pyros during the show. They even set off some fireworks during the opening to "One." I think they fucked up "Turn the Page" a little--not too sure, sounded like they were a little out of sync. About 20-30 minutes of fireworks followed the show. Great show!

I was on the side of the stadium that you needed to be on to know about the guy falling, and I walked to the upper deck right before Korn came on. You could still see his blood spot on the pavement. I don't know what happen with this guy, but last night we were predicting that you would start to see "evil Metallica and "evil rock concerts" stories on the local news, and sure enough, I just saw a story on the local TV news about how the concert was "rife with drugs and alcohol," ....yeah there was a lot of drugs and alcohol at the show, but really no more than any other typical rock show, but you know that they would try to blame Metallica somehow, I'm waiting for the lawsuit by the parents of this guy against the promoters, stadium and Metallica (yeah like they made him put his legs over the railing.)

I feel awful that a guy died at the concert, and feel bad for this guy's friends and families, but you know something's up with this guy, he either got pushed (which police have ruled out), committed suicide, or was so drunk he didn't know what he was doing up there.

Anyway, the show it self rocked hard, even though the setlist didn't have enough rare gems for my taste, Metallica kicked ass big time last night, didn't see SOD, caught about half of Powerman 5000, they rocked, Kid Rock was cool, Korn was just ok, their sound really sucked.

Great show. Third time I've seen Metallica. Shorter, but still awesome. They hit the stage right after sunset. They had trouble with the big monitor on the other end of the stadium. I took notice of the crowd. Ten years ago it was 16-30 male. Now it's 6-50 everyone. Seemed like some came for the newer songs, some for the older standbys. Looks like Kirk grew his hair back and they wear all black just like before. Korn was good too. Kid Rock was hard to find on stage. So was the short dude. I know souvenirs are always expensive but some shirts didn't even have Baltimore listed on the tour schedule and the ones that did said PSI Net Speedway even though it's a new NFL football stadium.

This was my second time to see Metallica. I saw them at the new years eve show in detroit, and it was awesome, but i have to say that the sound was not half as good at that concert as it was at this show. this was by far the best i have ever heard them sound live, better than any of their videos or any of my numerous live cd's. Surprisingly, they sounded 3 times heavier than korn and the thickness of their sound outdoors blew me away. What really amazed me was that this time around kirks guitar was much clearer, he was just a little bit louder than james which made all the difference in the world. His solos were the clearest the could have possibly been. They did not mess up one time, it was unbelievable. i was in complete awe the whole concert. I knew all the lyrics by heart but couldnt sing them, because i was in so much awe. When they played fade to black, me and my friend started crying. that is how emotional it is for me when i see them live. I wonder if they know what kind of effect they have on their fans. if you get a chance you have to see them on this tour, it is completely unbelievable. I have more respect for these guys than i thought possible.

Review by Montana
An absolutely spectacular day all around, musically, but the blistering heat and lack of rain told me that mother nature wanted to fuck us in the ass.

First off, System of a Down and Powerman 5k put on great shows. In between sets, I can't tell you how many lovely young ladies sat on shoulders and pulled the Mardi Gras-esque stunt of flashing the throes of men in the audience. Hats off to the St. Louis security for not giving a damn.

I managed to be at the dead center, on the rail for Kid Rock (bruises to prove it) and I'll tell ya what, on the day before the 4th of July . . . his American schtick is pretty awesome. Really knows how to handle a crowd.

Korn took their sweet old time setting up/getting out on stage, and the drunken, obnoxious Korn supporters decided to crush everyone at the front. The fight along the rail became a losing battle (not to mention the multitudes of fat people getting pulled out of the crowd over my head) so I got myself pulled out and re-hydrated. I didn't feel like I'd missed anything.

Metallica: As sharp as ever. I maneuvered into a place about 100 feet back from the stage, in the center. Good sightlines all around. The sound was crystal and well mixed (although I think they blew a speaker at some point, and they had a little trouble with the mics). Set list was same as the other shows. Creeping death, Bellz, Seek & Destroy, Fade - absolutely stunning. And in all honesty, I think it's kind of ballzy for Met to open with 4 songs that rarely ever get radio time. It's like they were saying "we haven't forgotten who got us here! And it ain't the 15 yr. old girls!" After Fade, Jaymz said something along the lines of "You heard that one before? We haven't played it in a while." Jaymz then did the Gimme and M thing again (for some reason the M was repeated, maybe not happy with crowd response) and launched into Fuel. I got the feeling it was a little out of synch last night. Didn't seem clean. Memory remains sounded good, but the best part about that song isn't the damned nah-nahs, but the solo that Kirk plays during that part. It's such a powerful strain, but you can't hear it over the bleating of the crowd. At the end of the song, Jason told us to "Keep going!" with the nahs. But it really kind of petered out quickly. The reworking of the intro to No Leaf Clover has made that one of my favorite Met songs. They don't need an orchestra with it. The setlist continued, all great. I was a little surprised at how many people there just . . . didn't know the words. Some people were saying "oh, I don't have that album," or weren't even moving to the music at all. I was at a concert in Germany 4 years back and they knew more of the lyrics than the Americans!

They took a break before Battery, but instead of playing the intro, they piped it in off of CD. Right as they launch into the fast part, they were all back on stage and slammed in with their instruments. I don't know if they're trying to show that they actually play CD quality or if they just couldn't work out something better on short notice.

During the encore breaks, the crowd was chanting "oohhh eeee ohhh ooooOOOOHHHH oohh." I found that amusing. Just too bad they didn't play Frayed.

I thought it was great how they threw in Sandman near the end. Since they didn't open with it, it was like people assumed they just wouldn't play it. Then when it came on, they were thrilled.

Absolute balls to the wall show! No slowing down, increase in musicianship all around. Several songs were faster than I've heard them on other bootlegs. And to top it all off, Lars promises the new album. Metal up you ass!

I know it's long. maybe just select the stuff you think is worthy. I also met a guy who uses your site a shit load and he may float a review too. Keep up the great work. You are the ONLY online Met resource worth shit! Great job!

Only MetallicA could play in the middle of nowhere, Rockingham NC, and attract such a huge crowd. The concert was simlply amazing. I have seen Metallica 5 times now, and this was THE best Metallica concert, and overall concert I have EVER attended! Yes, it was that great. The openers were great, preparing us for the kings. I especially liked Powerman5K. Kid rock was kick-ass as always. Korn spawned some of the most violent mosh pits I have ever seen. Throughout the day the rain kicked in and cooled us off. It was perfect timing, whenever it was getting too hot the skies would pour away for 15 minutes or so. Metallica hit the stage a few minutes past 9:00. The place went black and theif infamous intro music came on. Rockingham was the loudest city in the world at the instant. They immediately went into Creeping Death, which was the best freakin idea they've had in a long time. That is the perfect opener. Everybody was yelling their brains out "die!! die!! die!!!". It was magical. They busted out a lot of old material. Battery, puppetz, sanitarium, seek&destroy, fade to black, bellz. All are awesome songs. Metallica was on top of the world. Throught the setlist the skies filled with lightning, which added to the magical mood. "One" was killer, but Jaymz messed up the first verse. At the very end, and after their upteenth encore, they played 3 covers in a row: last caress, so what, and die my darlin. Kirk brought out his new guitar for these songs! It's a black guitar with a red demon-guy head on it. The eyes of the demon head are lit up in red bulbs. That guitar has kirk written all over it. In conclusion, the best concert I have ever been too. And I am looking forward to the july 7, atlanta show.

THE ROCKINGHAM SHOW KICKED ASS. Although a lackluster performance by Kid Rock was expected Metallica Made up for It with some rocking shit. The were in top form, I caught Jason's water cup at the end though so I am better than everyone else there. Front Row Baby I was on the screen for a while banging my fucking head. My Buddy was the one with the METALLICA tattoo that was on the screen forever. Thanks Metallica you are the damn best.

Boy, Metallica sure is swell. Gee whiz, I like them ever so much. I caught a pick from Jaymz. Jaymz messed up the lyrics to Welcome Home and One, but that's OK since all the other songs where neat-o! I only wish they played Frayed Ends of Sanity. PM5K and Korn were sweet, too. Kid Rock was stinky, though.

allllright, it seems like I didnt even sleep, and here I am at 8:45am writing this. Was a great, beautiful day out, worked on the tan, sun went down around 7:15ish. Didnt watch system/pm5k. Kid rock had his strippers and played his usual. Korn sounded pretty damn good played a good hour set.

Metallica came on at 9:15 with the video intro to ecstasy in gold, they had 3 big and crystal clear vedeo screens, 1 on either side and 1 behind the stage. Boston was PACKED to the rims, great fucken turnout.

Creep-great opener, complete with the sing-a-long die die die in the middle
Bellz-great, nothing stands out.
Seek-full song, no breaks
Fade-amazing lighting for it, didnt expect it.
Fuel-Gimme an M! Gimme an E! Gimme a T! Gimme fuel.....great to put on after fade.
Memory-crowd wasnt really into the whole nah nah thing at the end.
Sad-powerful as always, good thickness to it
Clover-The intro was fixxed (from the m2k flubs), sounded a lot more powerful this time to.
King-dunno why, but this song bores me. They played an extended middle part repeating the main riff for about 5 min b4 continuing.
Roam, love how it starts, got the place going again with the chorus.
MasterTarium, main part of MOP, full sanitarium, last part of MOP, great 10 min mix.
Battery-taped intro, god damn what a great main set closer, fast and tight. NEM-nothing new, last note held into
Disappear-this song will be played at every metallica for as long as they live..fuck man, great live song, they have fun with it, and the riffs are just made for concerts. Lighting and spot lighting were great.
One-pyro's up the wazzu, behind the stage, to the side of the stage, in front of the stage...feel bad for the front security guys cuz these things were going off maybe 2-3 feet above their head.
Page-smoke machines fogged up the stage 1st cover, great crowd sing-a-long.
sandman-crowd pleaser of course, great lighting.

they threw all buy a few pix out after sandman and left the stage for a 3rd time, then came out and just kicked into last caress, without pausing a beat into so what and again, as if part of the song, die die...what a great mix to end the show.

Pyros for creep, fade, fuel, roam, battery, one, sandman. Tight fucken set, they had video's for the songs that had em going off and on with close up camara angles on the 3 screens. Lars ended saying, see ya with a new album next summer!

Review by Jonathon
Aching back. Ringing Ears. Lost voice. 2 hours 15 minutes. It was all worth it to see Metallica and after what they played again last night ... After the other four bands opened, Metallica, who was supposed to start at 8:30, was to start at nine. Even after that delay, the Ecstasy of Gold ended up playing at 9:15. It hadn't even completely ended when Metallica opened from the middle of nowhere with "Creeping Death". "For Whom the Bell Tolls" was played directly after, with no stop in between the songs. After that, "Fade to Black" was played for the first time in over three years. What made it more unbelievable than it was was the fact that my friends and I were 50 feet from the stage and all we could hear was bass guitar and bass drums. They played "Seek and Destroy" which sounded slower and out-of-tune directly after which followed into James' first comments of the night - "Gimme an M", "Gimme an M", "Gimme an E", "Gimme a T", "Gimme Fuel, Gimme Fire...". "Fuel" and the next song, "The Memory Remains" both featured video clips on two of the four monitors. "Sad But True" was then played", followed by "No Leaf Clover" was played with it's recorded symphony intro, then the only Load song, "King Nothing", and "Wherever I May Roam", which hadn't been played on the last tour. The "Master of Puppets", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium) medley, "Masteritarium". The lights dimmed while the acoustic intro to "Battery" was played, and then the place exploded with people bosy surfing, moshpits, etc. - the heaviest song of the night.

After a few minutes, they came back out and played "Nothing Else Matters", "I Disappear", and "Turn the Page". They came out once again and played "One" and "Enter Sandman". They threw some pics and drumsticks out and debated on whether to keep on playing (everyone knew they were going to anyway because when they were to finish, the monitors would go out as did the other bands). Finally, Metallica played one more song, or three - a medley unlike anything I have ever heard - the three covers of "Last Caress/So What/Die, Die My Darling".

Review by Aaron James
They did it all last night. It was my 1st time seeing Metallica live, and I couldn't have asked for more. I expected they would open with Crepping Death, and they did. They played all my faviorites except for 'Hero Of The Day' but who am I to complain? They played for over 2 hours and every second of it was great.

It was all readay an hour and a half into the set, they had left the stage after playing Battery, I knew it wasn't over yet. They came back for the on-core, or so I thought, and it started with 'Nothing Else Matters' then they went into 'I Disapear' and I was geeting a bit upset, where the hell is 'One' but before they left the stage for the second time, red fire works went off, the sounds of gun fire was heard throughout the stadium, and for 5 minuets that was all I could hear, I knew it was finally time, their last song of the night, 'One' and I went crazy down on the floor. My all time favorite Metallica song, and it was awesome.

They didn't stop after one. After acting as crazy as I could be for 'One' I was tired as hell as Metallica played 'Turn the Page' then 'Sandman.' It was my 1st time seeing my god's play and I know it will not be my last. But the 1st time is always the best, and this show will be hard to top.

Hey... my friends and I made the 5.5 hour journey from Long Island to see Summer Sanitarium, and it was well worth it! What a show! Best I have ever seen Metallica! Anyway, let's go from bottom to top. System of A Down opened with a great set...they closed with Sugar, but did not play Spiders to the surprise of many. They only played for about 30 min though. Next up was PowerMan 5000...Spider is a great front man. He talked well with the crowd between songs. Highlights included him messing up "Tonight The Stars Revolt" and saying so in the middle of the song. They opened with SuperNova Goes Pop and closed with "They Know who you Are." The low point of the show was Kid Rock...he was horrible. Only God Knows Why and Bawitdaba sounded OK, but the rest sucked. KORN ROCKED! They played the coolest versions of Fagget, Falling Away From Me (the opener for them), Freak on a Leash and the best song of theirs, Blind, which finished their set with their logo being set ablaze!

Now was time for Tallica! While setting up their stage, they played the original version of Whiskey in the Jar...it sounded really weird compared to Tallica's version. When Ecstasy of Gold began, the place went nuts. Out of nowhere they blasted CREEPING DEATH, and it was one of the best versions of the song I ever heard. They went right into For Whom The Bell Tolls, which also sounded great. James asked the crowd "Let's see who remembers this one!" and they played the heaviest version of Seek and Destroy I ever heard in my life! Then, the surprise of the night...FADE TO BLACK! It was awesome to hear that song live again! Fuel and Memory Remains were both cool, and Sad But True was simply awesome! Hearing No Leaf Clover without the orchestra was better than you would have expected it! King Nothing was stretched out by a few minutes, and it simply rocked! Cool to hear Roam again, and MASTERTARIUM was simply unbelievable. Shocker #2 followed as Battery was played in the middle of the show...they even played a recording of the intro...it rocked. After a short break, the typical Nothing Else Matters rendition occurred, followed by the new hit I Disappear, which sounds better live than on the radio. One was out of this world...as usual. Turn the Page sounded really cool live, and Enter Sandman was the typical sing along. Then, for the encore, we loved the new little garage medley! Last Caress, So What & Die Die My Darling all together was without a doubt one of the coolest endings to a show ever! This was one of the best setlists ever!

Great show! Can't wait to see Tallica again (this time at Giants Stadium with less travel time :>) What an unbelievable show...Metallica, you are the kings of rock!

This was my third time seeing Metallica live and every time up until the very moment before the show begins I forget how great they make me feel and how awesome they perform. I saw them on the Load tour in 97 and it was the first live concert I had ever attended by any band. What a way to spoil me forever. My God, I was on the floor, we touched Jason, Lars pointed at me, etc. Anyway, I've gone to other concerts since and they just plain sucked compared to the energy and friendship of a Metallica show. The Foxboro show was just plain awesome. I finally brought my girlfriend to whom I told Metallica was the greatest thing ever and their live shows were unbelievable. I told her she couldn't understand why I had said the Dave Matthews concert was boring as shit until she saw Tallica live. Well, she definitely understood one minute into the show as I saw her pumping her fists to Creeping Death. Now, I've given her all of my CD's and she is aching to learn more about Metallica. Everyone should bring a disbelieving fan to a Metallica concert and see what they are all about. Metallica is twice the age of all the bands that played and they still rocked more then the others did. They don't stand there and not move and try to look cool, they involve the fans and run their asses off to try to psyche us up. I especially love it that they are always smiling. We were on the side of the stage and every time Kirk and James came over, and Lars at the end, they were smiling the whole time. And they would always pound their chest as to say "thanks man, we love you," and you know they do. I have a band, and I hope to be able to continue my career someday as Metallica has...with concerts that keep on giving and giving, music with energy & power, and an unmatched love and respect for their fans. I love you guys, and I know your next album will be one of your greatest. Thanks so much for the music.
