NY POST REPORTS
The New York Post also has a review of the NYC show up. Highlights: "That's how the table was set for this bold, often beautiful concert. It wasn't your typical rock show, and Metallica isn't your usual thrash-'n'-trash band. This one-night event illustrated that even though music may seem like it's in constant revolution, the reality is evolution." Read the whole article at by clicking here. Thanks to James NY TIMES REPORTS
The New York Times has a review of the NYC show up as well. Not only does the author, Ann Powers, discuss the concert, but also Metallica's place in music. Highlights: "The dedication to making hard rock worth thinking about makes Metallica as intellectual as a pop-oriented composer like Mr. Kamen. The band members could have looked silly as they struck rock-god poses and strutted through the orchestra on Tuesday, but they deserved to gloat." Read the whole article at by clicking here. Kudos to Mrs. Powers! Thanks to Bob ALLSTAR REPORT
Allstar news has a review of Tuesday's MSG Symphonica show. Says Lars of the show, "In 16 years of coming to play here, we've never had an audience like this." Not to add personal bias, but I must agree wholeheartedly with him, it was the most amazing crowd I have ever seen at any show, period. Click here to read the whole article. MTV INTERVIEW
MTV.com has a brand new interview with Lars up called Metallica: S&M and Beyond. Among the highlights: "That's what I remember about the two [San Francisco] shows: a complete inner focus and really just dealing with my aspect of it and not wondering about the lights or the pretty girl in row three, and really just holding down my end of it more so than ever. That's the ugly truth" ... "MTV: Are these previously released tracks that you're kicking in [for the new Paradise Lost film]? Lars: Yes, they are" ... "maybe I'll find some new hobby. Start painting?" Click here to read the entire interview. S&M MISPRINT
Jason lets us know that there is a misprint on the S&M video (so far only on the regular edition to our knowledge). On the back of the
video box it says "Running Time: 229mins (approx)". However, the video itself says "Running Time: 149 mins". Don't confuse this for perhaps being the special edition video; the documentary is packaged on a separate video attached to the regular video.

BRUCE KULICK recently reteamed with his former KISS bandmate and current ESP side project cohort on a cover of "Sad But True" for a METALLICA tribute album his brother BOB KULICK is putting together. Seems the band did not have any approval for the usage of pyro at their show last night.

According to a report in the New York Post, the band sashayed into Manhattan restaurant One 51, which was teeming with people, and demanded that four tables be set aside for their pals. When the wait staff refused, the band became abusive, but didn't exit until one employee reminded them, "You're not Metallica -- you're Korn." Metallica.com has made SEVERAL updates on S&M. Here they are:
WOW!! The DVD alone sounds amazing!
UK Music Magazine NME, had some interesting ideas about the direction of the next Metallica album. While it had been rumored the band wanted to continue it's growth and expand by trying a producer other than Bob Rock, this definitely puts a very interesting twist on what may lay ahead for Metallica. Here's some quotes from NME: "Metallica have also been speaking to Kerrang! magazine about their next album. Guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed that he wanted Dr Dre - whose '2001' has just been released - to produce the album. They say that they like what the ex-NWA man did with Eminem, though they aren't planning to "go hip-hop or anything". But when they said the same thing at the MTV Music Awards in 1996, a reporter from MTV told Dre, who retorted: "Well I don't wanna work with them!" Their other choice was ex Roxy Music/U2 producerBrian Eno. The album will be recorded in the summer of 2000 after a six month break." Read the whole story here.
