According to Tixx, Metallica will be playing November 20 & 21 is San Antonio, TX at the Majestic Theater, Edinburg, UK on August 7th at the Lennoxlove House and in Belgium August 8th at the Folk Festival. thanks to: Jessica.

Jessica lets us know that Kirk is joining Primus on a cover of a David Bowie song for Primus' new album. It is unknown if this the same track Kirk recorded with Les Claypool awhile back.
Metallica was a question on gameshow Hollywood Squares. TV's Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, Battlestar Galactica) was asked "What special project did heavy metal band Metallica just complete?" She answered correctly about the Symphonica project, however the contestant disagreed! No word on Squares regular Whoopi Goldberg's reaction! Thanks to Jim.

Plans for pay-per-view access of Woodstock 1999 have been announced. Pay-per-view feeds for the full three days of the festival as well as single one-day are available. Woodstock '99 in Griffiss Park in Rome, NY will be available from Viewer's Choice, Direct TV and TVN. Check your local cable company for details, prices are as follows: 3-Day $59.95 Pay-per-view of Woodstock 1994 raised more than $9 million. Ticket sales have surpassed both single event sales and single event online sales records for Ticketmaster.
Metallica along with an "all star lineup" of today's biggest music, film and television stars will visit The Skywalker Ranch for an exclusive screening of "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace." MTV will broadcast this as "An MTV Private Screening" on Tuesday, May 18 at 10:00pm, the show will include exclusive preview clips from the movie, an inside look at The Skywalker Ranch and interviews with talent about the movie. Other attendees inlcude Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, Ginuwine, Korn, Hanson, Limp Bizkit, Maxwell, 'N Sync, Rob Zombie, Third Eye Blind, Usher, Shannen Doherty, Edward Furlong, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seth Green, Katie Holmes, Alyssa Milano, Luke Perry and many others.
The Misfits, who originally recorded "Last Caress," "Green Hell" and "Die Die My Darling," told Kerrang! in recent interview that they plan on covering an undetermined Metallica song for their album Fiend Club, which should be out this summer.
According to MetOnTour, Jason joined Sepultura on stage for two songs at the Rio de Janerio, Brazil concert on the 9th of this month. Fan reviews cite "Roots Bloody Roots" and "Refuse/Resist" as the songs performed by Newsted & Sepultura. Thanx to John for the correction. UPDATE: Rodrigo reports "The correct

Bloody Roots, which was the last song on the concert)."
Rocktropolis reports that the Metallica/Victoria Secrets dispute is heading to court. A pre-trial conference is set for March 27, 2000 and a trial scheduled to begin on April 25, 2000.

ESP Guitars has released a new James Hetfield signature guitar: the JH-3. The JH-3 is a Les Paul-styled ESP Horizon set to James' specifications. The guitar has a black mahogany body with rosewood fingerboard, gold hardware, custom flags inlays, the pick-ups are James' standard EMG-81 & 60 humbuckers, Creme binding on the body and neck, and custom Pinstripe graphics on the body. This is the third James Hetfield signature series; the JH-1 was a flying V with red flames, the JH-2 was modeled after James' D-Tuned Explorer complete with diamond plating. Pantera frontman Phil "Animal" Anselmo joined Metallica onstage in Mexico City on April 30th. The quintet performed Creeping Death to the delight of 50,000 Mexican fans.
