Seems kinda odd. Metallica’s done the Summer Sanitarium which was (for all intents and purposes) their own traveling Festival.

Now, I understand that this is destination type Festival (which tends to be more European of a thing).

I’m not sure what they’re thinking with the bands they’ve chosen. Maybe I’m a little too out of the loop – but, this line up doesn’t seem to be the type of line up you want to see with Metallica… yeah, they probably want to avoid the Big 4 (no idea why) but they could pick some bands that are a little more Metalllica-fan friendly.

My Friend of Misery and Escape? That will be something to behold! Struggle Within will be good to hear also. I think they want to make this a Woodstock/Coachella/Lollapalooza kinda deal where it has something for everybody. I wonder what else they have planned as well. It should be a success by all counts though. I hope it is huge! Too damn far for me though way up in the Yukon

Since this is happening while they’re working on a new album I’m hoping they’ll introduce a new song or two.

Anyone want to wager that they will do the entire Justice album next year?
I figure if they have done Puppets and will do Lightning and TBA, why not?
Plus next year will be the 25th anniversary of the album
They pulled of TLITD at the Fillmore and have played Dyers a few times. Why not save Frayed Ends as a premiere…

I’m only a few hours from this, but I doubt I’ll end up going- the combo of price, the whole pain in the ass that the festival going experience can be and an unlikeliness of finding someone else who wants to go with me doing the trick.

That said, I do love the idea and love that the lineup is as diverse as it is.
