Rumors from Bob Seger to Mercyful Fate to Iron Maiden are bouncing back and forth. There may be a STRONG possiblity of an Iron Maiden cover to be included on the upcoming re-release of Garage Days Re-Revisited. Knowing Metallica, it'll probably be something off the wall, but maybe they've heard our cries for a studio cover of "Prowler!" We can only hope!

    GARAGE DAYS RE-RELEASE INFORMATION
    05-21-98

We've received some information on the upcoming re-release of Garage Days Re-Revisited, but since it has not been confirmed yet, it still is only a rumor. The band is said to be working on 8 new covers, including one Iron Maiden song, and the possibility of a Black Sabbath song, with 5 to 6 of them making it on the record. Maybe the additional covers will be future b-sides? It will be a double disc release and the band will be pushing for as much disc space as they can. It remains unknown if the four Motorhead songs will be included on this album since they were, more or less, just rehearsals. The projected release date remains to be November 17, the same day the DVD is scheduled to be released.

    LARS RECORDS, INC.?
    3-10-98

Stories say Lars has secured some sort of record label.  We're not sure if this involves Elektra, some other label, or just Lars making copies and selling them on street corners.  Sources say in some form that Lars is considering releasing Kory Clarke's new band, Space Age Playboy's debut album.  You may remember Kory from his days with Warrior Soul, who opened for Metallica man times, most notably Donington '95.

    OPENING BAND?
    3-10-98

Stories say an Aussie band will be opening the Pacific Rim tour.  Don't look for INXS, Silverchair, or AC/DC, either.

recording of "The Mechanix" a.k.a. "The Four Horsemen."  The album is supposed to be as before mentioned on vinyl in March and on

The release is according to Kerrang! approved by the Metboys themselves..

    METALLICA - LIVE?
    2-28-98

"I heard that the Metallimovie is called "Metallica - Live" and Metallica likes the soundtrack so much that they're considering using it to release a live album this year!"

This came from MicheleFM. When asked her source, she wrote: " I heard about Metallica - Live from an imported magazine I got at the airport called "Total Guitar" Feb. '98 issue 40 from the UK. It had Kirk on the cover and came with a cd that has Satan on it and The Memory Remains single and the backing as well. Other bands are on the cd, too.

    BLACK LISTED!?
    2-01-98

Is the reason Metallica has been deviod of Grammy nominations due to that fact that the band has played the American Music Awards? Several sources have leaked that the Grammy people have a secret policy to exclude artist's that play and/or support the AMA's. Metallica has won and performed on the American Music Awards as recently as last year. It should be noted that Re-Load's lack of Grammy nomination might be possibly due to its latter part of 1998 release. Late in the year releases are not as generally open to reaction as albums released earlier.

UPDATE:  According the Entertainment Weekly, Puff Daddy was not allowed to perform on the Grammy's since he performed on the AMA's.  Kinda makes ya wonder.
