METALLICA ACTION FIGURES

Metallica announced in Australia today plans to release a new series of action figures.  "We figured if could KISS could do it so could we" said drummer Lars Ulrich.  The figures will come in a varitey of different costumes (Why did James wear 3 different shirts on tour last year??). 

"Eventually, we hope to have a variety of different poses and limited edition figures... including a very limited life size figure that I already have a prototype of... of me, of course" said the drummer.  Lars also mumbled about the cool new Lloyd Grant and Tony Smith figures.

t's been revealed the Metallica Cartoon is in development.  There will be two versions.. one based on the designs and illustrations of Pushead and another on the designs and illustrations of Mark Devito.  Look for this show on the new Metallica MTV Channel debtuing soon.

The Metallica Club magazine has changed it's names to Playboy.  They think they will sell more magazines this way.

INSIDE REPORTS FROM FINAL PACIFIC RIM REHEARSAL!!

Metallica held their final rehearsal for the Pacific Rim leg of the Poor Touring Me 1998 tour. Ralph Schwartz, an Inter Sandman member who was invited to sit in on the rehearsal wrote the following to Inter Sandman: "this was the best experience of my life. i got to sit in the studio with metallica when they practiced for their tour. they said they had some surprises for us, and u will definitely be surprised. they did lowman's lyric on electric guitars with heavy distortion. i had a hard time believing that it was really the same song. they did an acoustic version of 4 horsemen that they did before on the radio but this time they used different lyrics. something about a car repairman. here are the songs they played. metal militia, trapped under ice, so fucking what, free bird, until it sleeps, enter sandman, and justice for all, one, master of puppets, anywhere i roam, and fuel. they also did a song about killing time or something like that. they had some guy with a cast on his arm trying to play guitar. he sounded like that girl on memory remains. it was awful. i think there were a few other songs but i don't remember. u'll see if u go."  

METALLICA & SOUTH PARK?!?!

Everyone knows Metallica likes SOUTH PARK.. but does the connection go deeper? It seems South Park creator Trey Parker grew up outside of SOUTH PARK with a certain Danish exchange student. Look for a new exchange student named Lars to join the cast of SOUTH PARK this Wednesday, he's Cartman's father's uncle's brother. 

KILLING TIME IN MELBOURNE

After hearing endless requests for Metallica to cover 'Killing Time' on the AOL MMC, Kirk Hammett has contacted IS Web Dude Jeff. The two have struck up a bit of a friendship. Look for Jeff to be PLAYING and/or SINGING 'Killing Time' with Metallica on the April 7th live in Melbourne. Keep in mind, Jeff is still recovering from an accident he had when his arm got stuck in a Coke machine as it fell on top of him, so he may just be singing the tune.
